From the recording Mouth Feel
After all that wonderful noise, anarchy, and high drama, Mouth Feel concludes with a prayer for peace. Dissonance is replaced by consonance. Confusion yields to quiescence.
The title in Latin means “Grant us Peace.” It comes from the Catholic Mass and has been an inspiration for composers since Medieval times. My version is built around an old and well-known Dona Nobis Pacem melody that is sometimes played around Christmas time, or that you might have sung as a round in church or school chorus.
